TERMS OF SERVICE

Terms of Service

By using RidePickup (“the Platform”) you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Platform. These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Last updated: April 2026
Important: RidePickup is not a taxi company, ride-hailing operator, car rental company, or transportation provider of any kind. The Platform does not provide rides, does not employ drivers, does not dispatch vehicles, does not collect fares, and does not take a commission. We only provide a place to post ride requests, display driver profiles, and connect the two sides. Every trip is negotiated, contracted, and performed directly between the rider and the independent driver.

1. The role of the Platform

RidePickup is an information marketplace connecting riders with independent transportation providers (“Drivers”). The Platform limits its role to:

  • Providing a way for riders to post ride requests;
  • Displaying Driver profiles (vehicle, service area, languages, self-description);
  • Relaying initial communications between rider and Driver (via email, SMS, or in-platform messaging);
  • Helping the two sides establish direct contact.

Each Driver is an independent operator responsible for their own licensing, insurance, taxes, and compliance with local laws. Each trip is a direct arrangement between the rider and the Driver.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Platform. By using the Platform you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. For riders

  • Trip arrangements — pickup time, pickup and drop-off locations, fare, payment method, cancellation — are agreed directly between you and the Driver.
  • You pay the Driver directly. RidePickup does not collect fares, hold deposits, or process payments.
  • You are responsible for verifying the Driver’s identity and vehicle at pickup, and following reasonable safety practices.
  • If you cancel or modify a trip after booking, the Driver may apply their own cancellation or change policy.

4. For drivers

  • You represent that you hold all licenses, permits, and insurance required by your local jurisdiction to provide your services.
  • You set your own prices, service areas, schedule, and terms of service with riders.
  • Your profile must be accurate. You are responsible for keeping it current (vehicle, service area, contact info).
  • You handle tax reporting and payment processing directly with riders.
  • You are solely responsible for safety, conduct, and service quality during every trip.

5. What the Platform does not provide

The Platform does not:

  • Provide, arrange, or guarantee transportation;
  • Dispatch Drivers to rides or assign rides to Drivers;
  • Set or control trip pricing;
  • Collect fares, hold deposits, or process payments between riders and Drivers;
  • Verify the accuracy of Driver profile information beyond basic review;
  • Serve as a party to any transportation contract between riders and Drivers;
  • Act as an employer, agent, or partner of any Driver.

6. No warranty

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that Driver information is accurate, that Drivers will accept any particular request, that any particular trip will occur, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RidePickup will not be liable for: indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; lost profits, lost data, or business interruption; damages arising from the acts or omissions of any Driver or rider; damages arising from any trip arranged through the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to US $100.

8. Your indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RidePickup, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or demand (including attorney fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your interaction with any rider or Driver.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false information in your profile or ride requests;
  • Use the Platform to harass, defraud, or endanger any person;
  • Use the Platform for illegal activities;
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Platform;
  • Impersonate another person or entity;
  • Use the Platform to solicit riders or Drivers to transact in ways that circumvent these Terms.

10. Account management

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that are inactive for extended periods, or that we suspect of fraudulent or abusive activity.

11. Service changes & termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform (or any feature) at any time with or without notice. We may also terminate your access to the Platform at our discretion. Termination does not relieve either party of obligations incurred prior to termination.

12. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its design, code, logos, and platform-generated content, is owned by RidePickup and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute Platform content without our written permission. Driver profile content remains the property of each individual Driver.

13. Disputes & governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

Disputes between riders and Drivers — about trips, pricing, service quality, cancellations, etc. — are between those parties. RidePickup is not a party to those disputes and does not mediate them.

14. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Material changes will be communicated by posting updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
