Questions drivers ask first

Here are the things drivers most often ask before joining. If you have other questions, you can reach out to the platform directly.

Can I still join after the Founding Driver spots are gone?
Yes, but the gold "Founding Driver" badge and a founding number will no longer be issued. The first-100 status can't be replaced, and the program won't be expanded or topped up.
Is there any cost to join RidePickup?
No. Creating your driver profile, displaying your service info, and receiving rider requests are all free. At this stage the platform charges no sign-up fee and no account fee.
Does the platform charge a fee? How do I get paid?
Joining, listing, and accepting trips are free in themselves. After the rider pays online and the trip is completed, the funds settle automatically to your connected payout account through the platform's payment system. A service fee applies on each completed trip; the exact rate is set out in your driver agreement. You don't collect cash and don't chase riders for payment.
Do I have to accept every request?
No. Whether it's a booking a rider starts from your profile or a request the platform routes to you, it's your decision whether to take it. Skip any request you don't want — it doesn't affect your profile.
How exactly do riders find me?
Two ways run at the same time: ① while browsing drivers on the platform, riders can see your profile and choose to book you directly; ② after a rider books online, the platform routes the request to drivers whose service area matches, and drivers accept on their own — first to accept wins.
How are fares set? How much can I make?
Fares are set by the platform based on service type and distance, and the rider pays one fixed price online at booking. You can see your payout for a trip before you accept it — fully transparent. Fixed pricing avoids a race to the bottom and gives riders the confidence to book.
Can I drive for other platforms at the same time?
Yes. RidePickup does not require exclusivity. You can keep driving on Uber, Lyft, and other platforms, or keep serving your existing customers. RidePickup is simply one more place for riders to find you.
Do I need commercial insurance or a TCP / livery license?
It depends on your state and the type of service. California has TCP requirements for certain private-car services, and other states have similar rules. Each driver is responsible for their own compliance — RidePickup doesn't verify regulatory status. Check with your local DMV or CPUC equivalent.
Can I pause if I don't want trips for a while?
Yes. You can contact the platform anytime to pause your profile display and request routing, and resume whenever you want. Your information stays under your control.
Will the platform contact me after I join?
Yes. After we receive your application, we'll reach out using the contact info you provided to confirm your details and help you round out your profile content. The whole process is light and not tedious.
